Forgot your ATM PIN? Here’s how you can reset your ATM PIN

Do you have more than one savings bank account? Have you ever faced a situation where the cashier had to tell you that the PIN that you entered is wrong? I don’t know how about you, but we have certainly been there. When we start using a new debit card, especially after joining a new company, the old PIN remains in our fingertips. It is well and good if we can recollect the new PIN but what if you don’t.

Well, there is nothing to fear as it is effortless to reset your PIN Card. And there are many ways to do that as well. You can do it through an ATM, net banking, bank app or by visiting a branch.

How to reset your ATM PIN at the ATM

If you are at the ATM and you inserted the debit card inside the machine, and you hear yourself say “S**t, I forgot my ATM PIN’. Chill everything is fine, and the world is not breaking into pieces. All you have to do is select ‘Forgot PIN’ or ‘regenerate PIN option from the menu. Now, you have to put in your registered mobile number or maybe your date of birth. You will receive an OTP which you have to enter on the ATM. After that, you have the option to select a new PIN. Once this is done, you can withdraw cash immediately. But, make sure that you don’t forget it this time.

Reset ATM PIN using net banking

If you happen to be unlucky like us to forget the PIN when you are shopping, we have your back. You can easily reset your ATM PIN through net banking.  

Please note that to reset your ATM PIN through net banking, you will have to be registered for net banking facilities. Log in to your bank’s website through your phone and go to the cards section. Then request for instant PIN Generation.  You may have to add your card details, CVV number, expiry date and then an OTP will be generated to your registered mobile number.  Enter a new PIN and use this PIN.   

Reset your ATM by using mobile apps

Most of us have a mobile bank app. They come in handy in different situations, and it can also help you to reset your password. Go to the service section in your bank app and opt to generate debit card PIN. Enter your account number, debit card number and CVV. Enter a new debit card pin and hit submit.

Reset ATM PIN at the bank branch

If you are travelling and there are no ATMs in the vicinity, and the network connection is not proper or have gone on a digital detox, you can reset the ATM PIN offline through a bank branch or calling the customer care number. If you request a new PIN in a bank branch, the new PIN will be dispatched to your registered address. You can even collect it from the bank branch.

Through Mobile Banking

  • Log on to your Kotak Mobile Banking App
  • Click on ‘Service Requests’.
  • Under the ‘Debit Card’ section, you’ll see an option to ‘Regenerate PIN’.

Forgot your SBI Debit Card PIN

Through internet banking

  • Go to the official SBI website.
  • Enter your username and password.
  • Click on the ‘e-Services’ tab.
  • Go to ‘ATM Card Services‘ and then ‘ATM PIN Generation’

Reset your SBI ATM PIN through toll free number

Before you call, keep your ATM card number and account number handy.

  • Call the SBI toll free number on 1800 11 2211 or 1800 425 3800 from your registered mobile number.
  • Select ‘Card Services’ and then ‘Regenerate ATM PIN’.
  • Enter your 16-digit SBI ATM card number and eleven-digit bank account number.
  • You will get an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  • You have to use it to generate a new PIN at any SBI ATM.

Reset your SBI ATM PIN through ATM

  • Visit any SBI ATM
  • Insert your SBI Debit Card
  • Tap on the ‘PIN Generation’ tab that you will see on the  bottom-right corner of the ATM screen.
  • Follow the procedure that will come on the screen.

Reset your SBI Debit ATM PIN through SMS

  • Send PIN<space> last four digits of your card number <space> last four digits of your account number to 567676 from your registered mobile number.
  • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Use this OTP to generate a new PIN at any State Bank ATM.

Reset your SBI ATM Card PIN through bank branch

Go to any SBI branch.

Submit a request for PIN generation.

When you are visiting through bank branch, remember to carry  your passbook, PAN card or any other official valid document.

After that you just need to follow the instructions mentioned. Remember, you need to have your mobile number registered with the bank to receive the OTP and your new PIN number.

 So it is that easy to reset your ATM PIN in case you forget your ATM PIN.
